PMAD: Give Me a Clean Heart

I don’t know if you have ever heard the song Give Me a Clean Heart by Fred Hammond, but I would suggest listening to it. It is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I am feeling down, or distracted by the world. It helps acknowledge where I am struggling, and that I AM actually struggling. My favorite line in the song is where he says ” I am calling out to you for a strength exchange I would gladly take  you’re joy for my weakness, give me a clean heart and I will serve nobody but you!”

I love the idea of being able to exchange my weakness for Gods strength. Those moments when I can’t make up my mind, the moments when I want to give up my morals, those moments when I’m doubtful, anxious,mad,sad..etc. what ever it is, God wants all of it. In that moment of weakness it is a great idea to ask the Lord to help you keep a clean heart. Also for a heart and mind that is focused on Him and only on him!

“29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV
